About the TYC Pontchartrain Foundation

The TYC Pontchartrain Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit, public-benefit organization dedicated to expanding access to Lake Pontchartrain through education, recreation, and community engagement. While formally incorporated as TYC Pontchartrain Foundation, Inc., we proudly operate under the name TYC Pontchartrain Foundation.

Founded with a commitment to long-term impact, the Foundation is structured to exist in perpetuity and operates exclusively for charitable and educational purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Our Mission

At the heart of the TYC Pontchartrain Foundation is a simple but powerful goal: to positively impact lives by making Lake Pontchartrain accessible to everyone.

We believe that the lake is a shared community asset—one that has historically been out of reach for many. Through inclusive programming, we strive to remove barriers related to age, race, gender, background, physical or mental ability, or financial means.

What We Do

We use sailing and boating as platforms for education, growth, and connection.

Our programs emphasize:

By offering regional educational programs and hands-on experiences, we work to expand opportunities for people of all backgrounds to safely enjoy and engage with Lake Pontchartrain.
